Flowing Flowers

Being a true introvert, or an “extroverted introvert”, I love to spend time with friends and family but sometimes, it can feel a bit overwhelming. For the most part, I become anxious prior to the event or meeting; however, when the time comes, I really have a good time. In the midst of trying to work through the anxiety, I try to find ways to keep connections open. These days, it seems as texting has become the “go to” for short quick statements and sometimes, long conversations. However, sometimes, I want to send a quick message where I feel a text is a little impersonal for my message. I found that sending a beautiful card does the trick! By far, Flowing Flowers, is one of my favorite stamp sets! The images are “distinctive” in that they add texture and give the illusion of multi-layers and dimension. They lend a softness and elegance to any card. What’s more, the sentiments are perfect for when you just want to send a quick note. I love the “sending a card instead of a text” sentiment! I love the versatility of the images and the type font is beautiful! Recently, I was planning to meet up with two old friends who I had not seen in a couple of years. I wanted to give them each a card that would let them know I was thinking of them without being overbearing. They both loved the cards and told me they considered them to be keepsakes!

Here, I used the stamps in Flowing Flowers to create my own DSP. I stamped gray granite and one of the 2021-2023 In Colors pale papaya ink on a 4 x 5 1/4 very vanilla cardstock to make the card front, and matted it on a 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 pale papaya cardstock. I then wrapped pale papaya ribbon around the matted card front. I used the 2nd largest stitched rectangle die to create the stitching on the very vanilla card front. The card base is gray granite side fold (8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4). I used my new Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine to die cut two leaf petals using the Forever Flourishing dies on gray granite cardstock. I layered the leaves behind 3 fussy cut flowers, popped up on dimensional adhesives. Finally, I heat embossed the sentiment on gray granite cardstock die cut using a label from the Tasteful Labels die set. The Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels and pale papaya ribbon made the perfect finishing touches! I made a similar card substituting crumb cake color cardstock for the gray granite and blushing bride and crumb cake ink on basic white cardstock.
